BREAKING: Governors Reject Federal Government’s Proposed N60,000 Minimum Wage

The Governors of the 36 states in the Federation have rejected the Federal Government’s proposal to set the minimum wage at N60,000.

This decision was disclosed by Hajiya Halimah Salihu Ahmed, the Director of Media and Public Affairs for the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), in a statement released on Friday.

Hajiya Halimah Salihu Ahmed stated, "The governors unanimously agreed that the proposed N60,000 minimum wage is unsustainable given the current economic realities and the financial capacities of the states."

Further details on the implications of this decision and the next steps in the negotiations between the Federal Government and the NGF are expected to emerge in the coming days.

Stay tuned for more updates.
