Presidency Disburses N60 Million to 120 Youths

The Presidency has announced the disbursement of N60 million to 120 youths selected from across the country.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education (SSAP-TVEE), Abiola Arogundade, revealed this during a ceremony in Abuja, where grants and Solar Kiosks, along with Certificates of Completion, were awarded to participants of the 'Unlock Training Programme.'

Arogundade explained that the initiative followed a six-week campaign by the Presidency, encouraging Nigerian youths to submit one-minute videos showcasing their current Technical, Vocational, and Entrepreneurship Training (TVET) skills, their future plans, and how government support could help them achieve these goals.

"Participants were trained both online and physically on various components of a solid business plan, including executive summaries, business overviews, marketing strategies, pricing, money management, and risk assessment," said Arogundade.

The programme culminated in an intensive 10-day training session, where around 10,000 participants learned to write and execute business plans.

"Today, we are awarding N500,000 grants each to 120 winners with the best business plans," Arogundade announced.

Additionally, 80 individuals excelling in their TVET skills were recognized with honorary awards to help upscale their businesses.

"As you may have seen, we are also giving away four Solar Kiosks to winners to support their business development. These include kiosks designed for hairdressing, catering and food vending, and general purposes," Arogundade added.

The 'Unlock Training Programme' underscores the Presidency's commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and technical skills among Nigerian youths, providing them with the tools and support needed to succeed in their respective fields.
