The Chairman of Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area, Hon Chika Ibekwe, has emphasized a few of her accomplishments over the past 100 days, reaffirming her commitment to delivering more democratic dividends to the people.
The Council boss stated this at the Local Government Headquarters in Umuneke Ngor while briefing newsmen on her achievements since her assumption of office as the Executive Chairman of the council.
Highlighting some of her milestones achievements, she said, "Over the past 100 days, we have embarked on an extensive road grading program of 22 rural roads across the Ngor-Okpala council area, ensuring that communities across the council area are easily accessible.
"This initiative not only facilitates smoother transportation but also fosters stronger connections between our people."
Hon Ibekwe further said in her pursuit of efficiency and effectiveness within the Local Government Council, she has constructed Eleven rooms and Reception legislative office complex to create a smart working environment.
According to the council boss, "Our vision aligns with the 3R administration development agenda of our leader, the Imo State Governor , Senator Hope Uzodinma( Onwa Oyoko).
"Within the first 100 days in office, we have sponsored and mobilized over Fifty Ngor-Okpala women on a free medical outreach through Rev. FR Kingsley E Ihejirika PhD of Divine Mercy Medical Center Obike
"Some of the projects initiated and delivered by us include the Installation of solar-powered CCTV within and outside the council area to aid security and monitor activities.
" We also installed solar energy to ensure uninterrupted access to electricity in the council area thereby creating a better working environment for workers."
While assuring that more road networks in the local government would receive adequate attention, she said her administration’s focus has been clear from the onset: laying the foundations for key priorities such as upgrading infrastructure, improving the quality of life for residents, and advancing governance efficiency.
The soft-spoken chairman said "Looking ahead, our administration remains steadfast in its commitment to serving the needs of every resident, ensuring that no one is left behind in our quest for progress"
Hon Ibekwe, also said she would do a lot more for her people, adding that she had embarked on regular clearance and cleaning of the entire council environs.
