IMO COMISSIONER FOR LIVESTOCK DEVELOPMENT VISITS IIRS BOSS; CALLED FOR PARTNERSHIP.




The Commissioner for livestock Development, Dr.Tony Mgbeanurike in the company  of the Ministry's Mangement Staff payed a courtesy visit to the Chairman, Imo State Internal Revenue Service,IIRS,Justice Remijus Okoye at the IIRS Office in Owerri.

Addressing the IIRS boss and his team on the purpose of their visit, the Honourable Commissioner said that the visit became necessary to enable cross fertilization of ideas on the best way to actualize the Ministry's mandate on area of Revenue generation and to ensure a well streamlined revenue generation activity in relation to the various Revenue subheads that has been assigned to the Ministry to avoid collision with other MDAs and prevent double taxation on  the businesses in the State





The Commissioner said that partnership with IIRS is very key in the Ministry's Revenue drive for the Government, Dr. Mgbeahuruike, lauded the IIRS  boss for his uncommon style in doing his job since his assumption of duty, reiterated that only collaborative efforts of both the Ministry and the Revenue Service can guarantee the success of the Ministry; noting that having found himself in Revenue generating Ministry,that the  experience he has garnered so far would be an advantage in doing the job in partnership with IIRS office.


He assured that his office would work within the confines of the law establishing the Ministry; while enjoining other Ministries to also know their boundaries to avoid interference with other sister MDAs  in the State.


Responding, the Chairman of IIRS Justice Remijus Okoye, applauded the Commissioner for the visit and assured of the Revenue Service's readiness to work in harmony with the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the State in improving the State's revenue base.


 Chairman of IIRS Imo State, further informed the Commissioner and his team that the Management of IIRS was ready to work with the Ministry of Livestock Development to enable both offices achieve their set goals for the good of the Government and the people of the State, while enjoining the Commissioner to continue in his usual manner of devising workable strategies to execute the  mandates of Ministry.
