OGUTA REJOICES AS GOVERNOR UZODINMA INTERVENES IN LAND RECOVERY: A TIMELY ACT OF JUSTICE FOR THE PEOPLE

It was with a heart full of gratitude that I, alongside countless sons and daughters of Oguta, received the cheering news of the recent bold step taken by the Imo State Government under the distinguished leadership of our father and Governor-General, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Odidika Uzodimma (Onwa). In what can only be described as divine intervention, the long-abandoned Oruru/Egwe Government Station Layout has finally been rescued from the clutches of criminal land grabbers who, for years, tormented our people with impunity.

For those of us who have cried out over the years, often feeling unheard, this development is nothing short of miraculous. Truly, our cries have risen before the Maker, and He has chosen a worthy vessel in His Excellency to answer them. This is the very essence of governance, responding to the yearnings of the people with decisive, courageous action.

We must especially commend the formidable Oguta Land Recovery Committee for their swift and impactful intervention. Headed by the dogged and resilient Hon. Modestus Nwamkpa (KSM), the committee has shown that with integrity and political will, justice can be restored. They have not only reclaimed our land but also restored our collective dignity as a people.

This recovery effort is more than a legal action;it is a moral victory. It sends a clear signal that Oguta land is not up for unlawful grabs, and those who took part in the criminal acquisition and illegal sale of the Oruru Station Layout will be brought to justice. We, the people, respectfully urge the government to leave no stone unturned in ensuring that all culprits are held accountable, to serve as a strong deterrent to others.

Furthermore, I humbly draw the attention of the committee to the New Market axis of Oguta, where government-owned lands have also been encroached upon by unscrupulous individuals. Some of these lands already have structures springing up on them under the cover of fraudulent documents. Perhaps a subtle oversight function in that direction, if I may say with a chuckle, is due. These lands are worth hundreds of millions and are vital for the sustainable development of the Oguta Ameshi community, especially considering the limited land available to us and the needs of future generations.

This development has brought immense relief and joy, particularly to those among us with little or no means;people who had been stripped of their rights through coercion, intimidation, and blatant falsehoods. The Governor's action has renewed their hope and restored their confidence in a government that listens and acts.

We pray for God's continued grace upon Imo State and all her citizens. And we once again salute the resolve of our beloved Governor, the Most Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, whose vision and courage continue to illuminate the path for a greater Imo.

Onwa, your leadership is a light in dark places; may that light never dim. The Oguta people are behind you.
