ACCEPTANCE SPEECH BY THE WELFARE OFFICER, NIGERIAN INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC RELATIONS (NIPR), IMO STATE CHAPTER

Distinguished Chairman, Fellows of our Chapter, former Chairmen, esteemed executives of our great Institute, respected members of NIPR Imo State Chapter,

It is with a deep sense of gratitude, responsibility, and honour as I formally accept the role of *Welfare Officer* —a new and strategic position graciously created by our National Body to strengthen member engagement, support, and wellbeing within the Institute.

First, I wish to express my profound appreciation to the leadership of NIPR Imo State Chapter for the confidence reposed in me. Your trust is not taken for granted. I also extend my gratitude to our national leadership for envisioning and institutionalizing a role dedicated to the welfare of members—an affirmation that people remain the heartbeat of our profession.

As I step into this assignment, I do so with clarity of purpose. Public Relations thrives on relationships, and relationships thrive on care, connection, and communication. Welfare is not just a portfolio; it is the conscience of any professional body. It is the bridge that ensures no member is left behind, unheard, or unsupported.

I therefore pledge to serve with compassion, transparency, and responsiveness. By God’s grace and with your cooperation, I will:

Strengthen a system that promptly responds to the needs and concerns of members—whether professional, personal, emotional, or social.

Promote unity, solidarity, and a stronger sense of belonging within our chapter.

Ensure that our members are appreciated in good times, supported in challenging times, and celebrated in moments of achievement.

Work closely with all executives to build a vibrant, caring, and people-centered chapter where every member feels valued.

I understand the weight of this responsibility, but I am equally confident that with your collaboration, we will elevate the welfare structure of this chapter to a model worthy of national recognition.

To my fellow executives, I look forward to working harmoniously with you as we continue to build a stronger, more visible, and more impactful NIPR Imo State Chapter.

To all members, I invite you to see me as your bridge and advocate. My door, my phone, and my heart remain open to you.

Thank you once again for this privilege to serve.
May God bless you all, and may God bless the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.
