Amato Alike Obowo LGA Set for Grand Coronation of Eze Ohachoro II December 26

 



Preparations have been concluded for the grand coronation ceremony of His Royal Highness, Eze Michael Utoko Iroanunam Obioma Ogbonna, Eze Ohachoro II of Amato Alike Autonomous Community, Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State.

The announcement was made by the Central Coronation Committee, which disclosed that the historic event is scheduled to hold on Friday, December 26, 2025,  at the Community Secondary School Field, Amato, Alike, Obowo, where sons and daughters of the community, as well as invited guests, are expected to gather in large numbers.

Speaking on behalf of the committee, the President General of Amato Town Union, High Chief Kelechi Festus Nwokonna, stated that all necessary arrangements have been put in place to ensure a successful and memorable ceremony. He noted that the coronation would formally usher in a new era of traditional leadership rooted in unity, peace, and progressive community development.




Also speaking, the Secretary General of Amato Town Union, Honourable Pius Dibia, described the coronation as a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of the Amato Alike people, adding that the event would feature traditional rites, cultural displays, and ceremonial processes that reflect the values and identity of the community.




The Chairman of the Central Coronation Committee, Mr Kelechi Azogiro, assured guests and members of the public of a well coordinated and orderly programme. According to him, the ceremony has been carefully planned to showcase the depth of the community’s customs while maintaining decorum and hospitality for all attendees.



In a related remark, the Secretary of the Central Coronation Committee, Honourable Iwueke Chinonso Collins, extended a special invitation to traditional rulers, government officials, community leaders, stakeholders, friends, and well wishers from within and outside Imo State to be part of the historic occasion.




He emphasised that the coronation of Eze Ohachoro II symbolises unity, continuity, and collective aspiration, and represents a significant milestone in the history of Amato Alike Autonomous Community.

Members of the public have been encouraged to attend and witness the colourful ceremony, which promises to celebrate culture, heritage, and the shared vision of progress for the Amato Alike people.
