An urgent Save-Our-Soul (SOS) call has been made to the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Office of the First Lady, Barrister Chioma Uzodimma, the Senator representing Owerri Zone, members of the Imo State House of Assembly, non-governmental organisations, humanitarian groups, and well-meaning individuals to come to the rescue of Miss Collumbus Ogechi Mary, a 35-year-old indigene of Umugwa Umuegwu Mpam in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.
According to information made available to the newsmen by her brother, mr. Chibunna, Miss Ogechi Mary has been battling a severe medical condition that requires advanced orthopaedic intervention. Medical experts earlier recommended comprehensive orthopaedic testing and a possible referral to a country with the capacity to successfully conduct the required operation. However, the family, completely overwhelmed by financial constraints, could not proceed with the medical recommendations.
Since then, she has reportedly survived only on temporary pain relievers, quack medications, and improvised care, a situation that has now deteriorated into an urgent and life-threatening condition. Her brother expressed deep worry over the progression of the ailment and appealed passionately for immediate intervention.
According to him, the family has been stretched beyond its limits. He noted that any humanitarian organisation, government agency, or individual willing to visit their hometown to verify her current condition would help expedite further action.
He emphasised that the family is ready to cooperate with relevant authorities and support groups, stressing that any assistance would not be taken for granted. He further appealed to the Imo State Government, the Office of the First Lady, elected representatives, NGOs, and well-spirited Nigerians to intervene before the situation worsens.
The family is calling for financial support to ensure proper diagnosis, specialist treatment, and possible international medical referral as earlier advised by health professionals.
Miss Collumbus Ogechi Mary is said to be in severe pain and in urgent need of advanced medical attention. The family prays that compassionate Nigerians and the Government of Imo State will rise to save her life.
