COURT ORDERS UZODINMA TO STOP PARADING HIMSELF AS APC CANDIDATE FOR IMO WEST

The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, to stop presenting himself as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Imo West Senatorial District election scheduled for January 16, 2027.

Justice Obiora Egwuatu issued the order on Thursday, ruling that Uzodinma did not win the APC primary election conducted on May 18 and monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In his judgment, Justice Egwuatu held that evidence before the court showed that former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, secured the majority of votes cast in the primary and should be recognised as the winner.

The court consequently directed the APC to submit Okorocha’s name as its candidate for the Imo West Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections.
