The Obi of Okwudor enjoined the people to dedicate themselves towards the development of the community. He noted that Okwudor is blessed with notable sons and daughters but expressed dismay that the community has not really benefited in terms of development. " We are blessed by God, our sons and daughters are doing exploits all over the globe, some have shown interest in the development of Okwudor, to these set of people,we say thank you. Some are standing on the fence, to these worthy sons, we enjoin them to come down and contribute their quota, others who are still watching, the time is now to come together for the development of our dear land" Obi said. Consequently, in a bid to fast rack the process of developing the land, the Eze said that the entire cabinet in agreement with the town union is soliciting for ten thousand naira only, from all sons and worthy daughters of land in the first quarter of every year to be deposited in the community trust fund for developmental purposes. To this effect, the Obi and His Lolo fulfilled their own obligation while calling on other sons and daughters to donate generously to the trust fund for the speedy development of the land. Earlier in his address, the President General of Okwudor People's Assembly, Hon.Tony Madu thanked the traditional ruler for the cordial working relationship that exist between the palace and the town union and called for its sustenance. Hon Tony called on the people to continue to show cause for the development of the community, stating that nobody will develop the town for community if all hands are not on deck. Highlight of the occasion was the display of various cultural groups and the pledge of royalty from the four villages in Okwudor, namely; Umuduruogba, Umuelem, Umufeke and Umuseke.
