The cluster heads of persons living with disabilities in Imo State have  threatened to shutdown Owerri Streets if Government continue to keep mute on their plights.

The physically challenged people told journalists that they have no other option than to block Government House and other major Streets of Owerri any moment from now until Government come to their aide.

However, the physically challenged people have rejected Christmas largesse given to them by Imo State Government which include seven bags of gari and four bags of corn. "Are we Hausa people that eat corn. The gari is even burnt. Why corn and gari instead of rice which people use to celebrate Christmas?. Government should do something immediately before we take over the streets. After all, how many people will share 7 bags of gari and 4 bags of corn", they queried.

When contacted the Imo State Chairman of Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities, JONAPWD,Dr. Stanley Nwachukwu stated that he has been calming the situation down.
