The Sole Administrator of Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area of Imo state, Hon.Theophilus Ihediuba has thrown his weight behind the reelection bid of the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, in the upcoming governorship election in November
The soft-spoken SOLAD who also empowered over 70 Ngor Okpala women with cash donations, rappers, and other relief materials stated this on Friday, August 25, during the 2023 Women's annual August meeting held at the Ngor-Okpala Council Headquarters in Umuneke.
He hinged his reason for supporting Gov Hope Uzodinma's re-election bid on the governor's passion for development; his interventions in human capital development, that has led to the creation of the SkillUpImo Project, which if properly implemented, will solve unemployment, grow youth enterprise, de-radicalize the youths and address insecurity.
The Ngor-Okpala SOLAD who advised youths of the council area, to avoid drug abuse seized the platform to enjoin women to use the annual occasion to identify projects and awareness programs that will enhance their lives.
Hon. Ihediuba further explained that a vote for Uzodimma is a vote for more dividends of democracy like infrastructural development and good governance.
The Chairman of the council of traditional rulers in Ngor Okpala local government area, His Royal Highness(HRH) Engr. Fredrick Nwachukwu expressed delight that the women came out en mass for the 2023 annual August meeting, urging them to translate their excitement to voting for Senator Hope Uzodinma, in the upcoming governorship election in November.
The respected monarch who is also the traditional ruler of Nguru1 Ngor explained that Imo Stakeholders have unanimously agreed that His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma should be re-elected for the second tenure after which an Owerri Zone son will take up leadership.
Speaking also ,Mrs.Amarachi Ihediuba the women Chairperson and the wife of the Ngor Okpala SOLAD advised the Ngor-Okpala youths to stay away from taking the hard drug popularly called Mkpuru-Miri, urging the teaming youths to appreciate His Excellency, Hope Uzodimma for his achievement in office and appointing her husband Hon.Theophilus Ihediuba to serve him
In her remarks, HRH. Ugoeze Victoria Nwachukwu JP of the Ngor autonomous community advised all mothers to train their children Well, teaching them the disadvantages of disrespecting elders, joining bad groups, taking hard drugs, etc She appreciated the Governor of Imo state for his performance in the past 3 years in office
Also speaking , the APC Women Leader, Virginia Onyeulo who was full of praises for Gov Uzodinma urged the women to caution their children to trade in the right way and also to be alert and watch over their community to fish out the bad eggs amongst them.
Speaking shortly, Lady Tina Okere, the Coordinator of Uzodimma Grass Root Ngor Okpala promised to assure Governor Uzodinma that they will take his second term bid campaign to the grassroots, by embarking on a door-to-door campaign.
