CELEBRATING A WOMAN OF VALOUR, IKUKU OMA



 

Her name is Edith Nwosu (IKUKU OMA),  She was the Labour Party Candidate for Nwangele State Constituency at the last General Elections. 


Edith Nwosu was born to Late Professor & Mrs E J Nwosu from ABBA in Nwangele LGA of Imo State. 

Upon leaving youth service year 2000, she worked in various Oil Servicing, Marine & Equipment companies where she shattered the male syndrome and held various Management Positions, among them are: 


1. Energy Equipment & Services (A subsidiary of ALCON Nig, an Italian company),

2. Ligabue Catering (An Italian Company where she was the only black female in management position), 

3. VNC Offshore Limited (Business Development Manager),

4. Aquashield Oil & Marine Services etc, in the capacity of a Business Development Executive. 


Edith Nwosu a serial entrepreneur with over two decades of experience, is the

5) MD/CEO of Sherwood Nigeria Limited, a business development company interfacing with  Oil and Gas servicing companies.


Hon. Edith Nwosu is the Founder,

Edithnwosu Healthcare Foundation for Children, a 6yrs old Healthcare NGO registered to provide Free Healthcare treatment to women and children.

Her medical outreaches have catered for over 4000 patients across the South south and south east regions of Nigeria , focusing mainly on improving healthcare standards, especially the eradication of the number one childhood killer disease – malaria and free surgeries (Fibroid/Hernia/appendicitis).


This she does by distributing free treated mosquito nets across various communities, free 5 mins malaria laboratory tests using RDT test kits, free malaria and other prophylaxis drugs, BP checks, Blood sugar tests etc. 


She provided succour to private school teachers by donating 200, 000 cash each during the worst hit period of the pandemic.


She has trained people in different entrepreneurship skills to learn a trade and be able to feed themselves.


Her foundation distributed raw foodstuffs to communities (bags of rice, spaghetti, onions, beans etc). 


She has carried out abdominal/pelvic scan free to women of child bearing age in communities to check various organs in the body (kidney, liver, Pancreas etc)


She has conducted free medical outreaches across the South South & South East with her team of medical professionals, saving lives. 


She has partnership with a foreign organisation in Czech Republic, that conducts eye tests for refractive errors and provides free glasses/frames for the old.


With her Medical team of 10 doctors, 8 nurses & 12 volunteers, she was in ABBA Nwangele LGA treating various sickness, conducting 5mins laboratory tests and delivering free drugs. 


She has distributed 1000 mosquito nets to women & children in Bundu waterside in Port Harcourt.


The provision of free Eye Screening and Testing to over 300 Elderly men & women in Nwangele LGA. 

She provided free Anti bacterial & allergic eye drops and drugs.

She provided Customized Lenses.


September 28th 2023, she shared

N600, 000 to 12 hard working women in Nwangele LGA, N50, 000 each as business support funds. 


December 25th 2023

IKUKU OMA paid a surprise visit to 30 homes in Nwangele LGA from 7am to 10am and gave 5k each as Christmas Gift.

N150, 000 was shared.

1st April 2024.

Hon. Edith Nwosu (IKUKU OMA), once again will bring good tidings to her people during this economic hardship by giving N200, 000 to 20 elderly women in her hometown of ABBA in NWANGELE LGA.


December 6th 2023, she received a traditional title from Umuobollo community Amaigbo in Nwangele LGA:

IGOLO NWANGELE.
