Ihiagwa Bridge Construction Reaches 70% Completion

By Ambrose Nwaogwugwu

The ongoing construction of the Ihiagwa bridge has reached 70% completion, with significant progress observed from piles, piers, and abutments to superstructures.

The beams are now fully in place, marking a critical milestone in the project.

Concrete formwork slabs are also ready and set to receive reinforcement for the bridge deck. In conjunction with the bridge construction, the Naze/Nekede/Ihiagwa/Obinze road is undergoing significant upgrades.

Drainage works have advanced to the Ihiagwa Market area, with the road structure (pavement) expected to be laid during the upcoming dry season.

Upon completion, the Ihiagwa Bridge will facilitate smoother and more efficient movement for road users, eliminating the need for motorists to pass through the FUTO community.

This development will link sections of the road, providing a crucial bypass.

The Naze-Nekede-Ihiagwa-Obinze road is poised to join the roster of completed infrastructure projects under the administration of Governor Hope Uzodinma, CON, reflecting his commitment to infrastructural revolution.
