Youths in Imo state under the agis of Concerned Imo Youth Forum(CIYF) are lamenting over the suspension of the ongoing training of artisans in Imo state, a brainchild of Federal Governments’s ITF - SUPA empowerment Programme.
This was contained in a statement addressed to the Director General of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF)
The statement signed by Comrade Nicholas Tochukwu and Edi Victor Okezuo, National President and secretary of the organization. expressed dissatisfaction claiming that most of the training centres have incurred expenses due to ongoing training.
The statement reads: “We write to inform you that over the past two weeks, the Owerri Area Office of ITF have suspend the ongoing training of artisans in Imo State, thereby denying majority of Imo youths access to benefit from the ongoing ITF - SUPA empowerment Programme of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Most of the training centres have incurred expenses due to ongoing training prior to receiving notifications to suspended the training.
“We, the youths of Imo State, are calling on you to mandate Owerri Area office to resume the training immediately because the training have really engaged the youths, reduced militancy and insecurity Imo State.
“Your urgent intervention on this matter will go a long way to prevent frustration which may lead to statewide protest.
Your support and timely action would be highly appreciated by all Imo youths.
We are hopeful that you will act swiftly to address our concerns, they concluded.
