The Odoeme Foundation, a non-governmental organization, recently empowered over 200 women and 40 youths in Ihitte-Uboma Local Government Area of Imo State. The foundation, founded by Ike Odoeme, distributed non-refundable grants of N100,000 to each of the women and interest-free soft loans of N500,000 to each of the youths.
The empowerment program, held at St. Cyprian's Church premises in Isinweke, aimed to alleviate poverty and promote economic growth in the community. Keynote speakers, Dr. Pauline Mba and Professor Kingsley Onyebuchi Nworgu, emphasized the importance of sustainable crop farming practices and agricultural business.
Ike Odoeme, the founder, stated that the initiative was born out of his passion to help humanity, adding that it was not politically motivated.
The foundation's director, Mrs. Eregbu Sylvia Marie, highlighted various programs and packages, including health initiatives, housing programs, and apprenticeship hubs.
The event featured free speeches, gift items, and entertainment. Representatives from Zenith Bank and Keystone Bank were present to disburse the funds and offer financial advice. The recipients expressed gratitude, promising to use the funds judiciously.
The Odoeme Foundation's efforts have been commended for its commitment to empowering women and youths, addressing health challenges, and promoting economic growth in the community.
