The Chief Political Adviser and Head of Political Bureau to the Imo State Government, Chief Perry Opara, has called on the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to intensify efforts in ensuring compliance with proper motoring standards on roads across Imo State.
Chief Opara made this appeal during a courtesy visit to the Sector Commander of the FRSC in Imo State, Mr. Udensi Oji, who assumed duty in the state about a month ago. The visit was aimed at fostering collaboration and strengthening road safety measures within the state.
During the engagement, Opara urged the FRSC leadership to deploy its good offices to ensure that motorists adhere strictly to established road use regulations. He noted that proper motoring discipline is not only critical for the safety of lives but also vital for preserving the quality of the road infrastructure developed by the present administration.
“I appeal to the FRSC to help uphold standard motoring behaviour on our roads. Governor Hope Uzodimma has invested significantly in road development, and preserving these infrastructures through responsible usage is important,” Opara stated.
Responding, Sector Commander Udensi Oji acknowledged the remarkable transformation taking place in Imo State. He admitted that when he arrived a month ago, some parts of the state were unfamiliar due to their improved appearances. He praised the people of Imo for their cooperation and encouraged them to continue supporting the government, especially in its drive for infrastructure and road safety.
Commander Oji also commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for his visible commitment to state development and lauded the administration’s efforts in promoting peace, security, and the welfare of the citizens.
Chief Opara further reiterated that the governor remains focused on ensuring peace, security, and the development of Imo State, with the ultimate goal of delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
