Honourable Engineer Okorie Emmanuel Chinonso, the Councillor representing Omuma Ward and Majority Leader of Oru East Legislative Council, has applauded the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Senator Hope O Uzodimma, for his outstanding strides in infrastructural and human capital development in Omuma, Oru East Local Government Area, and the state at large.
Speaking during a media interaction, Hon. Okorie said the Governor’s developmental projects across Imo State have not only transformed the physical outlook of communities but have also positively touched the lives of citizens.
He highlighted road construction, youth empowerment initiatives, and rural development projects in Omuma and other parts of Oru East as clear evidence of the Governor’s commitment to equitable development.
According to him, “Governor Uzodimma has demonstrated that leadership is about impact. The quality of roads being delivered, the ongoing urban renewal in Owerri, and the rural projects reaching Oru East have given our people renewed hope. Omuma Ward has never witnessed this kind of attention in governance.”
The Councillor also commended the Governor for making Imo State the highest paying state in Nigeria by approving an increment in the minimum wage for workers. He described the development as a bold and people-oriented decision at a time when many states struggle to meet salary obligations.
“In addition to the upward review of minimum wage, the Governor has equally ensured salary increments for lecturers and medical doctors in Imo State and the release of 16b for the payment of pension and gratuity
This gesture shows that education and healthcare remain top priorities for his administration. Our lecturers are now better motivated, and our doctors can give their best without the fear of being undervalued,” Hon. Okorie added.
He called on residents of Oru East and Imo State in general to continue to support the present administration, noting that the Governor’s people-centred policies have placed the state on the path of sustainable growth and prosperity.
