The Olu Oha Mbaise Political Assembly, under the leadership of Chief Perry Oparah, has been formally adopted as the only political organization in Mbaise nation by the people of the three LGA.
This position was unanimously adopted at the First Mbaise Political Summit held on Sunday, 21st December 2025, at Mbaise Secondary School, Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.
The historic summit brought together prominent sons and daughters from the three local government areas that make up Mbaise Nation, drawing participants from Ezinihitte, Ahiazu and Aboh Mbaise.
The summit served as a convergence of diverse opinions, experiences and aspirations, all focused on charting a united political future for Mbaise.
Olu Oha Mbaise Political Assembly, described as a socio cultural and political platform, was established to drive the collective political interest and advancement of the three Mbaise local government areas through unity, structure and strategic engagement.
While addressing the gathering, the Royal Father of the Day, His Royal Majesty Eze Dr Amb. Nwandu, Akaraka III of Ihitteafoukwu Ancient Kingdom, stressed the necessity for Mbaise people to align with the ruling party in order to fully access the dividends of democracy. He emphasised that political relevance and bargaining power can only be achieved by joining what he described as the moving train of governance.
According to the monarch, Mbaise cannot afford to remain on the margins of power if it truly desires meaningful inclusion at both state and national levels. He called on the people to return home politically, unite under APC and position themselves strategically for appointments, representation and leadership opportunities.
“I am calling on the people of Mbaise to join APC. We cannot be outside and expect to benefit fully from governance. We have capable men and women who can become ministers and governors. Let us unite, join APC and negotiate power from a position of strength,” he said.
Also speaking at the summit, Hon. Engr. Eric Agwamba described the Mbaise agenda as a collective project rather than an individual ambition. He noted that Olu Oha Mbaise Political Assembly is united in purpose and determined to support the current administration while ensuring that Mbaise remains actively involved in the governance of Imo State.
Engr. Agwamba urged Mbaise people to abandon politics of division and rivalry, stressing that unity remains the strongest tool for political progress. He described the summit as a turning point that signals a new era of cooperation, strategic planning and shared vision for Mbaise Nation.
The summit featured robust intellectual engagements led by distinguished professors of Mbaise origin, including Prof. Christian Tochi Egbuche, Prof. Joachim A. Onyike, Prof. Aloy Ndubuisi Ojilere who also served as Chairman of the Occasion, and Prof. Kelvin U. Amaefule.
Their contributions focused on political organisation, development driven politics and the imperative of unity in achieving long term goals.
In his welcome address, the President General of Olu Oha Mbaise Political Assembly and Chief Political Adviser and Head of Political Bureau to the Imo State Government, Chief Perry Oparah, described the summit as a defining moment in the political history of Mbaise.
He welcomed elders, traditional rulers, political leaders, stakeholders, youths, women and invited guests, noting that the gathering marked a conscious decision by Mbaise people to take control of their political destiny.
Chief Oparah stated that the summit, convened under the theme Mbaise Arise and Shine, was not a ceremonial gathering but a mandate for political awakening. He described the slogan as a call to action, unity and responsibility, urging Mbaise people to deliberately shape their future through political maturity and strategic alignment.
According to him, Olu Oha Mbaise Political Assembly remains the only organised political platform with functional structures across the 36 wards of Mbaise, giving it unmatched grassroots presence and legitimacy. He noted that the Assembly was built on vision, sacrifice, discipline and commitment, and has resolved to lead the political direction of Mbaise with clarity and purpose.
Chief Oparah emphasised that the summit was aimed at defining a clear political pathway that is inclusive, forward looking and development focused. He stressed that politics must serve as a vehicle for progress rather than division, noting that coordinated politics attracts development while disorganised politics repels opportunities.
He assured participants that under his leadership, Olu Oha Mbaise Political Assembly would continue to engage constructively with government at all levels, prioritising dialogue, partnership and strategic cooperation. He insisted that Mbaise must no longer remain spectators but active stakeholders in the political equation of Imo State.
As the summit concluded, Chief Oparah thanked all contributors and participants, stating that the day would be remembered as the moment Mbaise chose unity over division, strategy over sentiment and progress over complacency.
He urged all Mbaise people to embrace the resolutions of the summit and work collectively towards a stronger, united and politically relevant Mbaise.
The summit ended on a strong note of consensus, renewed commitment and collective resolve, as participants echoed the rallying call that defined the day.
