Leaders of the All Progressives Congress in Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State have called on party members and residents of the area to continue supporting the administration of Hope Uzodimma, the Governor of Imo State, as part of efforts to sustain development and strengthen the party in the state.
The call was made during the inauguration of the Local Government Area and Ward Chairmen of the party in Obowo, an event presided over by the Obowo LGA Chairman of the party, Anthony Osuagwu.
Addressing party faithful at the ceremony, Osuagwu urged the newly inaugurated executives to remain committed to their responsibilities and work tirelessly to strengthen the party structure across the wards and communities in Obowo. He emphasised the need for unity among members and charged the new leaders to mobilise grassroots support for the programmes and policies of the Uzodimma administration.
According to him, the success of the party at the local level depends largely on the dedication and commitment of the ward and LGA executives who serve as the bridge between the leadership of the party and the grassroots.
Several political leaders who attended the event also lent their voices in support of the call for unity and sustained support for the state government. Among them were Chris Okewulonu and Longers Anyanwu, Barr. Obioma Ehirim Executive Chairman, Obowo LGA, who emphasised on the importance of collective efforts in advancing the objectives of the party and promoting development in the state.
Also speaking at the gathering, Chike Okafor, the Member representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, who was represented by Hon. Chidi Nwoko encouraged party members to remain steadfast and supportive of the administration of Governor Uzodimma. He noted that unity within the party remains essential for continued progress and political stability.
In the same vein, Kennedy Ibeh, the Member representing Obowo State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, urged the newly inaugurated chairmen to justify the confidence reposed in them by working diligently to strengthen the party at the grassroots.
The event attracted party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters from across the local government area, all of whom expressed optimism that the new leadership at the ward and LGA levels would further consolidate the strength of the All Progressives Congress in Obowo.
