A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Okigwe Zone, Mr Kennedy Ikenna Odoeme, has donated the sum of ₦16 million to support the activities of the party during the APC Okigwe Zonal Stakeholders Meeting held at the council headquarters of Isiala Mbano Local Government Area in Imo State.
According to party sources, ₦4 million from the donation was used to support the successful organisation of the stakeholders meeting, while the sum of ₦12 million was provided as transportation support for participants who attended the meeting from the six local government areas that make up Okigwe Zone.
The meeting attracted several prominent political leaders including the Secretary to the Imo State Government, Chief Cosmos Iwu, the Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chike Olemgbe, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Mrs Rubby Emele, and the senator representing Okigwe Zone in the Nigerian Senate, Senator Patrick Ndubueze.
Also present were the member representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Chike Okafor, APC Okigwe Zonal Chairman Hon Dan Chike Ogu, commissioners, Special Advisers to the Imo State Government, former lawmakers, party executives, women and youth leaders.
Stakeholders at the meeting commended the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, for his developmental efforts across the state.
Party leaders also described Mr Kennedy Ikenna Odoeme’s donation as a strong demonstration of commitment to the unity and growth of the APC in Okigwe Zone.
