MBAISE NATION ADOPTS UZODINMA’S CHARTER OF EQUITY FOR ELECTIVE POSITIONS

The apex political organisation of Mbaise Nation, the Olu Oha Mbaise Political Assembly, has formally adopted the Charter of Equity championed by the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, as a guiding principle for the distribution of elective political positions across Mbaise.

This decision was reached during a strategic meeting held at the residence of the President General of Olu Oha Mbaise Political Assembly, Chief Perry Opara. At the end of the meeting, the organisation issued what it described as the “Mbaise Declaration 2026.”

According to the declaration, the political body resolved to adopt Governor Uzodimma’s Imo Charter of Equity as a framework for political inclusion, fairness, and justice in the sharing of elective positions across Mbaise.

The assembly maintained that the adoption of the Charter of Equity would promote balanced representation and strengthen unity among the various political zones within Mbaise Nation.

Among the key resolutions contained in the Mbaise Declaration 2026 was the agreement that all elective positions in Mbaise should rotate among the various zones within each electoral constituency in order to promote equity, justice, and fairness.

The organisation also resolved that the House of Representatives seat currently covering Ngor Okpala and Aboh Mbaise Federal Constituency should rotate between the two local government areas to ensure balanced political representation and fairness.

Similarly, the assembly agreed that the House of Representatives seat representing Ezinihitte Mbaise and Ahiazu Mbaise Federal Constituency should rotate between the two local government areas in a manner that promotes equity and inclusiveness.

Addressing what it described as the long standing issue surrounding the Ahiazu Mbaise State House of Assembly seat, the assembly was emphatic in its position that the next representative should emerge from the Ekwereazu clan. The announcement was greeted with jubilation from delegates who attended the meeting.

The organisation further commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for demonstrating commitment to the Charter of Equity in Imo State, particularly through the conduct of the recently concluded party congresses which many stakeholders described as reflecting fairness and balance.

Olu Oha Mbaise Political Assembly expressed appreciation to the Governor for providing leadership that encourages inclusiveness in the political structure of the state and urged political actors across Mbaise to respect and honour the resolutions contained in the Mbaise Declaration of April 7, 2026.

The meeting concluded with a collective appeal to political stakeholders, community leaders, and party members to uphold the declaration in the interest of unity, peace, and sustainable political development in Mbaise Nation.
