The Chairman of Ngor-Okpala Local Government Area of Imo State, Hon. Chika Ibekwe, has commended the executives of Ezi-Ama Autonomous Community women for their unity and organisational strength
She gave the commendation on Tuesday at the council headquarters in Umuneke Ngor when the women’s executives, led by Lolo Oby Onyenwe, paid her a courtesy visit.
Ibekwe, who expressed delight in receiving the group, described the women as “smart and elegant,” noting that their coordination and appearance reflected discipline and shared purpose.
She further lauded the group as a body of professionals with the intellectual capacity to project the Ezi-Ama ancient autonomous community to greater prominence.
The council chairman also praised the leadership of Lolo Onyenwe, describing her as a visionary leader with the capacity to steer the group to greater heights.
She pledged to attend the group’s forthcoming August meeting and commended the women for the gift presented to her, urging other community groups to emulate their example.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the leader, Lolo Oby Onyenwe, said the visit was aimed at identifying with the chairman and formally inviting her to their August meeting, which she said would be elaborate.
Onyenwe described Ibekwe as a woman of substance and capacity, commending her efforts at fostering unity among women across Ngor-Okpala.
She also expressed appreciation to Governor Hope Uzodimma for his support for the people of the area, particularly the construction of the Umuneke road leading to the council headquarters, which she said has improved accessibility and eased transportation.
