Imo guber: NACOY Woman Leader, Chinwendu drums support for Uzodinma, holds sensitization program for youth

The Woman Leader of the National Congress of Ohaji Youth, NACOY, Miss Amadi Susan Chinwendu has thrown her weight behind the reelection bid of the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, in the upcoming governorship election in November.

This was disclosed on 13 September 2023 at Mgbirichi Women's Hall in Ohaji during the flagged-off exercise of the awareness campaign for female youths in Ohaji council area of Imo State.

Addressing the female youths from the oil-rich region, Chiwendu said she prefer Sen. Hope Uzodinma because of his passion for developing the state and expressed satisfaction over the new development.

She further hinged her reason for drumming support for Uzodinma's second term in office on the governor's interventions in human capital development, which has led to the creation of the SkillUpImo Project, which if properly implemented, will solve unemployment, grow youth enterprise, de-radicalize the youths and address insecurity.

While urging the Ohaji female youths to reposition their mindsets towards social, political, educational, and economic awareness said the world is changing very fast and we are living in an era where the Girl-Child is being valued, unlike in the past.

Her words, "Today marks the beginning of a new era in the life of the female Youths of Ohaji Kingdom.

"Therefore, the idea of this program was borne out of our desire to encourage the Girl-Child to be active participants politically, socially, economically, and Educationally in societal affairs.

"However, this program is an avenue created to mitigate the neglect of the Girl-Child and remove the barriers that prevent her from participating in society. These barriers have negated all-round efficiency which has affected societal development both in our communities and Nigeria at large."
