The Director General, Imo State Consumer Protection Council (CPC) Hon Mrs. Obioma Okafor on behalf of the Imo State Government appreciates the management of BUA Cement PLC for the reduction in the price of its cement to N 3,500 per bag, effective from Monday, October 2.

The management of BUA Cement PLC disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, October 1, saying that the price reduction was a commitment made by the company to spur development in the building materials and infrastructure sectors.

The Director General, Imo CPC wishes to inform all the dealers, stakeholders, marketers, and esteemed public to comply with these directives, eschew any form of greed, and think about the economy and the Nigerian people as the government would penalize any distributor or distributors found to have breached this directive. Appealing with other cement manufacturers especially Dangote Groups to emulate BUA cement and toe the same path in the interest of end users.

Mrs. Okafor further urged all cement dealers in the state to ensure that end-users benefit from this reduction in the ex-factory price of BUA Cement as CPC will monitor field sales to ensure compliance.
