The National Director Unemployed Youths Association of Nigeria, Comrade Ugochukwu Emeana has appealed to the governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma to create room for teeming unemployed youths to win various positions in the forthcoming council elections.
He stressed that a situation where people who ought to give way for the youths still compete with them is unacceptable.
Comrade Emeana highlighted that they have suffered a lot of deprivation and called on the authorities to give youths the opportunity for the growth and sustainable development of the country.
His words, "the youths have suffered e lot of deprivation in the system. They keep saying, the youths are the leaders of tomorrow. We ask, when would that tomorrow come.
Comrade Emeana made this known while addressing newsmen in Owerri, the capital of Imo State .
According to him, the youths were supposed to have obtained the forms of the various political parties free. He revealed that the reverse is the case as the youths pay through their nose to obtain the forms.
He highlighted that how will the youths be the leaders of tomorrow if they are not been given opportunity to serve.
The Director of unemployed youths, however, called on the governor to ensure equity, fairplay and transparency in the various wards by making sure that nobody is marginalized in the election.
He said, our governor is a true democrat, who will ensure that everyone is carried along with out fear or favour "
He called on the Electorate to vote for the youths as they have all it take to move the state to the next level of development in accordance with the United Nations standard.
