The new Director of Administration and General Services ,(DAGS)Mrs.Onyegbe has charged the council workers to redouble their commitment to duty so as to justify their payment .
In her maiden interface with the Local Government staffers recently at Ngor-Opkala headquarters ,Umuneke, Mrs Onyegbe F.B.N charged them to be innovative, proactive and see themselves as agents of change, the present administration is clamouring for.
She warned that severe penalty inline with the civil service law awaits defaulters even as she frowned at the poor attendance of the staff ,during the meeting.
The DAGS further appealed to the workers to embrace ethical values and allow their conducts to be driven by integrity that will enable them deliver more quality service to justify their pay.
While describing hard work, punctuality as hallmark of a decent officer, the DAGS re-echoed the need for the staff to maintain government’s property under their care.
The DAGs commended the entire staff of the council on their conduct and high spirit ,promising to do her best to make the council a better place for all .
The soft spoken DAGs who appealed to all to shun gossips,urged all staffers of the council to ensure due process is followed in official procedure.
Also Speaking ,Comrade Echereodo ,NULGE chairman appreciated the giant stride of the new DAGS,promised on behalf of the staffers that they will work in synergy with the present administration and also advised the workers to avoid poor attendance to work inorder to justify their payment.
Also speaking the chief admin officer,Mr. Okoro Chucks passionately appealed to the DAGS to use her good office to appeal to the higher authorities to ensure that inconvenience allowances should be paid to staffers after posting.He also encouraged the Ngor okpala LGA staffers not to loose hope but trust the 3r government and it policy.
Speaking further,Mr.Peter during the vote of thanks appreciated the DAGS ,HODs and all the staff for gracing the meeting and also promised the DAGs that they will work in synergy with the administration
