Sir Fidel Anujuo
As the 2025 general elections approach, concerns are mounting over the persistent imbalance in development and resource allocation among the three senatorial zones of Imo State. Civic groups, political observers, and concerned citizens have increasingly voiced dissatisfaction with what they describe as lopsided infrastructural projects and unequal government presence across the zones.
Fidel Anujuo, a prominent voice in Nigeria politics and a the License Mediator and Negotiator (LMN), has called on elders and stakeholders across Imo state to urgently convene and engage in meaningful dialogue. “There is a significant imbalance in developmental and resource allocation among the three senatorial zones. This pressing issue must be addressed before the election,” Anujuo stated, emphasizing the risk of deepening disunity and disenchantment if the trend continues.
While interacting with media men in a telephone interview recently; He submitted that while some parts of the state continue to witness considerable investments in roads, education, and healthcare, others remain visibly underdeveloped. This disparity, he argue, has contributed to uneven economic opportunities and political tension, especially among the youth in marginalized areas.
Anujuo’s remarks should spark renewed calls for a more inclusive governance approach that ensures equitable distribution of state resources. He believes that open consultations among traditional rulers, political leaders, and community groups could pave the way for balanced development and restore public confidence ahead of the polls.
