The Danish envoy to Nigeria has initiated discussions with the Imo State Government on potential business partnerships and investment opportunities. The areas of focus include agriculture, healthcare, maritime, sports, and human capacity development, with the aim of addressing unemployment and fostering economic growth.
The meeting which took place at the Imo Governor's Lodge in Abuja between a delegation from Denmark and officials of the Imo State Government recently saw governor who love for Imo is unmatchable.
Leading the Danish delegation was the Consul General of Denmark, Jette Bjerrum, accompanied by Miss Victoria Epelle, Trade Adviser on Food and Agriculture at the Royal Danish Consulate, and Hon. Engr. Philip Ejiogu, representing ODK/Nortra Group Denmark. The Special Adviser to the Imo State Governor on Programme, Policy and Implementation, Hon. Sam Nwaobasi, was present alongside His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma, the Executive Governor of Imo State.
The members of the delegation expressed its intention to collaborate with the state across various sectors, particularly in job creation, human development, agricultural exportation, sports advancement, and maritime initiatives. They also commended the Governor for his achievements in infrastructural development and healthcare reforms.
Hon. Engr. Philip Ejiogu further disclosed that his group, alongside other Danish investors, had identified Imo State as a strategic hub for driving agricultural development and related ventures, and were prepared to invest substantially in the state.
Governor Uzodinma, in his response, expressed delight at the visit and appreciated the positive intentions of the delegation to partner with the state.
He emphasised that such investments would yield significant and sustainable returns, transforming the state’s economy.
