Among those promoted was the Public Relations Officer of the command, ACC Goodluck Uboegbulam, who was elevated to the rank of Assistant Controller of Corrections.

In his welcome address, the Controller of the Imo State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Michael Okechukwu Okorie, commended the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Honourable Minister of Interior Dr Olubumi Tunji Ojo for approving the promotions, noting that the Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service Sylvester Nwakuche MFR mni, ensured that beneficiaries immediately received the accompanying benefits.

He described promotion as a call to greater duty, stressing that the only way officers could truly appreciate the government was through dedicated and responsible service.

According to him, the essence of the promotion should be reflected not only in the workplace but also at home, as officers are expected to live in a manner befitting their new ranks. He urged the newly promoted officers to put in their best in the discharge of their duties and to allow their conduct to reflect their elevated status.

Controller Okorie also encouraged officers who participated in the promotion examinations but were not successful not to lose hope. He advised them to remain focused and determined, assuring them that with perseverance and renewed effort, they would attain promotion in subsequent exercises.

Speaking while moderating the occasion, ACC Goodluck Uboegbulam, the PRO of the command, affirmed that the promotions were based on the favour and grace of God, noting that many officers had attended interviews for promotion, but divine grace distinguished those who were successful.
