It was celebration of joy as players of the Super Falcons of Nigeria of imo extraction were gifted land allocations by the Governor of imo state, Dist.Hope Uzodimma for being good ambassadors of the state.
Performing the function on behalf of the state governor, the Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Physically Planning, Hon Noble Atulegwu expressed his appreciation to Governor Hope Uzodimma for his magnanimous spirit of rewarding hard work where ever he sees it.
He noted that the governor had earlier received the imo contingent of the super falcons at the government house where he hosted them and gifted them cash and promise of choice land allocation. " Today history is being made as the governor has redeemed that promise within a month of making it" he said.
Atulegwu enjoined the women to continue to aspire for greater glory as that will further place imo in the limelight. He thanked them for being worthy ambassadors of the state and called on them to use their goodwill to preach for peace and Unity in the state
Responding, a leading player in the squad , Ijeoma Iruka who spoke on behalf of the players thanked Governor Uzodimma for his love for imo people irrespective of where the person is coming from. She stated that this is the first time in the checkered history of the state where promises made to athletes were redeemed in good taste and without hassles.
She promised that they will continue to be good ambassadors of the state and pledged their unalloyed loyalty and solidarity to the shared prosperity government.
Other members of the team that got the the land allocation includes. Desire Ugochi Oparanozie, Nnadozie Chiamaka Cynthia, Ohale Osinachi Mavis, Oluehi Tochukwu and Iruka Ijeoma.
