Chief Opara gave the commendation while reacting to the successful conduct of the party primaries across the state. He noted that the orderly manner in which the exercise was carried out reflects the commitment of the party leadership to internal democracy and fairness.
He particularly congratulated the Imo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Austin Onyedebelu, alongside members of the party leadership and the electoral team that supervised the exercise, for their professionalism and dedication to ensuring a smooth process.
According to Chief Opara, the leadership provided by Governor Hope Uzodinma has continued to strengthen the structures of the party and promote unity among party faithful across the state.
He also congratulated all aspirants who emerged victorious in the House of Representatives primaries, noting that their emergence demonstrates the confidence reposed in them by delegates and stakeholders of the party.
Chief Opara urged the successful candidates to remain humble and committed to the ideals of the party while preparing for the next phase of the electoral process. He emphasised that their victory comes with the responsibility of providing effective representation and advancing the development of their respective constituencies.
The Chief Political Adviser also called on aspirants who did not emerge victorious to accept the outcome of the primaries in the spirit of sportsmanship. He noted that democracy allows for healthy competition but emphasised that the collective success of the party should remain the ultimate goal.
He further urged them not to leave the party but to remain committed members of All Progressives Congress, stressing that their experience, influence, and contributions remain important to the strength and growth of the party.
Chief Opara also advised aspirants preparing for the forthcoming State House of Assembly primaries to brace up for the exercise with discipline, unity, and respect for the democratic values of the party.
